Harriet Burgess, visionary founder of the American Land Conservancy, passed away on Monday April 19th. She leaves an extraordinary conservation legacy, protecting more than 480,000 acres of wildlife habitat, working farms and ranches, parks and open space, and outdoor recreation areas during 30+ years of tireless conservation work. The American Land Conservancy is proud to carry on Harriet’s work, and continues to protect critical wildlife habitat from Alaska to the California coast to the mighty Mississippi.
