Buck Island offers the rare taste of outdoor adventure in America's largest undiscovered wilderness. There's something for every outdoors enthusiast: five miles of hiking trails through a 1,000-acre hardwood forest, huge sand bars covering over 500 acres for most of the year, bird-watching, camping, picnicking, fossil hunting, and outdoor photography, wildlife watching for deer, turkey, beaver, bats, and more, three miles of Mississippi River frontage plus three miles of side channel water for great fishing, and opportunities to explore the area by boat, kayak or canoe.
