Faye-Luther Canyon Trailhead

A Gateway to the High Country

Hikers and equestrians have few options for getting into the Carson Range above Lake Tahoe and Hope Valley. Development along the foothills in recent years has curtailed access to the high country.

Working with local advocates, ALC spearheaded efforts to create a trailhead into Faye-Luther Canyon along Luther Creek. The 2.4-acre Faye-Luther Canyon trailhead is a popular gateway to the rugged Carson Range, offering breathtaking views of the Carson Valley. The trail is used for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, back-country skiing and snowshoeing.
