Blue Ridge Berryessa Natural Area
Conserving natural resources, preventing habitat loss
ALC secured funding via an $80,000 grant from the Resources Legacy Fund on behalf of a coalition of conservation groups to develop a Conceptual Area Protection Plan (CAPP) to help conserve the Blue Ridge Berryessa Natural Area (BRBNA). The 800,000-acre BRBNA in the coast range of northern California contains abundant natural resources, including oak woodlands, riparian and fisheries habitat, serpentine chaparral, and native grasslands. The CAPP will help consolidate protected lands within the BRBNA, prevent habitat loss, and facilitate agricultural and recreational land use.
