Cache Creek Natural Area
Expanding Access to a Wild and Scenic Playground
In 2001, ALC added the 617-acre Otis Ranch, on the eastern slope of the coastal range, to Yolo County Parks. Located within the Cache Creek Natural Area (CCNA), a 75,000-acre federal reserve in northwest California, the Otis Ranch runs for a mile along the Wild and Scenic Cache Creek, popular with whitewater rafters, hikers and campers.
The area is home to threatened tule elk, black bears, mountain lions, river otters, and golden and bald eagles. Visitors to the park may catch a rare glimpse of these majestic creatures.
