Linking the Santa Monica Mountains to the Sea

Located in the Santa Monica Mountains north of Los Angeles, lower Topanga Canyon was a missing link between Topanga State Park and Topanga State Beach. Acquiring the 1,655-acre property had been a priority of California State Parks for more than 30 years. The land provides access to existing parklands and offers spectacular views of the coast. ALC tried for years to assemble the funding needed to buy the land, succeeding in 2001. The land completes a park from the mountains to the sea, to be enjoyed by people from throughout greater Los Angeles.
