Vista Pacifica

Bringing Needed Open Space to Urban Los Angeles

Rising 500 feet above the Los Angeles Basin in southwestern Los Angeles, the Baldwin Hills contain rare lush vegetation and open space in an ever-more-crowded landscape.

When the 68-acre Vista Pacifica property was put up for sale and development, ALC stepped in. In record time, ALC overcame significant hurdles to acquire the $41 million site for the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. The largest and most expensive urban park in California history, this project provides much-needed recreation and open space for millions of residents of metropolitan Los Angeles.

The Baldwin Hills now hosts nearly 450 acres of protected parkland with opportunities for hiking, bird watching and enjoying the breathtaking views.
