
Over the course of more than three decades of tireless conservation work, Harriet Burgess protected 480,000+ acres of wildlife habitat, working farms and ranches, parks and open space, and outdoor recreation areas, including the 7,000-acre Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area’s Sweeny Ridge, and Alaska’s Admiralty Island.
