Wild Cherry Canyon offers stunning scenic vistas, including sweeping views of San Luis Bay, Avila Beach, and the Highway 1/101 corridor.	The rich combination of hills, knolls, and narrow valleys on the property supports dense coast live oak woodlands with some massive specimen oaks.

Important species such as the threatened California red-legged frog and native steelhead trout are found in coastal creeks in the area.	Wild Cherry Canyon's diverse ecosystem includes coastal scrub, chaparral, wildflower fields, native grasslands, and four watersheds

Outdoor education, interpretive exhibits, hiking trails, camping areas, and other visitor amenities will be made possible in the newly expanded state park.	Wild Cherry Canyon supports numerous wildlife species, including bobcat, fox, deer and neotropical songbirds.
